DIY: New Trend ~ The Photo Scene Setter

Published September 19, 2010 by tianateaparty

These days everyone has some kind of equipment to take photos; traditional cameras, camera phones or the multi functional camera/video phone, making it so much easier to take photos at events.  Tiana Tea Party  just added the Disney Princess Scene Setter for our photo opportunities, but there are so many other options that can be used to make a great scene setter.

The fabric back drop is the easiest, head to your local Joann’s get enough fabric to cover the amount of wall coverage you need, hang fabric on wall using double-sided tape or velcro strips, or drape the fabric over a fabric rack and voila!, you have your fabric photo scene setter.  We will be posting a tutorial on how to make your own photo booth in the upcoming weeks.

Last year Google predicted the hot toy of 2009 and they were right.  Toy analysts are betting on Google again this year to predict the hot toy of this holiday season.  Google bases their information on their trend spotting tool.  Well here it is the “IT Toy” for Christmas 2010.  Its made by Hasbro and its called, “Nerf Stampede” its their latest version of dart blasters.  Ok then……

SWAP Party

Published September 15, 2010 by tianateaparty

In high school your friends had clothes that you would borrow, then you had things that they would borrow from you.  As we got older the thought of wearing our friends things was not as appealing.  Fast forward to 2010, we have a bad economy, money is tight, and all over you are hearing about swap parties where friends gather at one’s home bringing things that they no longer wear, or can fit…..(I will leave that alone) and offer them up to another friend at the “swap”  for free.  I think it’s a great idea and am planning a swap of my own with my friends. If worried that someone will notice that you are wearing your friends dress they probably won’t, but to be on the safe side you can shorten it……dye it (using RIT), add a belt, scarf, jacket and you have a new addition to your  wardrobe for free!

P is for parties , Christi Bennett  has great pictures of her swap party that looked liked a lot of fun, and gave loads of inspiration.  Check out her blog to see all of the pictures.   I will be planning my own swap event, lol! If in Atlanta area and you would like to participate contact me.
